11 Awesome Wedding Blogs To Check Out..

February 9, 2010 Leave a comment

I get a lot of photographic inspiration from several online wedding blogs that really show a diversity of what other photographers and wedding vendors are putting together for their brides.  Some of it is really breathtaking and amazing.  I wanted to pass these along for my brides who want some great wedding tips and those who are looking for inspiration for their special day.  Most of the sites have a links section so I am warning you, prepare to be amazed and exhausted.  These are in no particular order just the ones I visit often.

Jen 2.0 – Virginia Beach Modeling

January 3, 2010 2 comments

Here are some pics of my friend Jen from last year that I never posted to the blog.  She models locally and around the Mid-Atlantic region. The images are from the Cavalier Hotel and in front of the King Neptune statue in Virginia Beach.  I brought my 1968 Chevy stepside as a prop for one of the set’s too.

Jen always makes me laugh, she is full of spirit and loves to spend time in front of the camera. Images 1 and 2 I really love.  Just a beautiful capture of her.

If you get a chance  book a room at the Cavalier for the weekend too, so much history at the grand ‘ole hotel and the staff is wonderful.  It’s also very a very romantic place for a wedding.

Virginia Beach Model Portfolios – The Junkyard Shoot

July 5, 2009 5 comments

Last Saturday myself and several photographers from a local club did a group photo shoot with some local models.  I typically do not like these group shoots because you just don’t have the time to get to know the model.  Trust and having your subject relax is imperative for good pictures.    I have been on a black and white kick recently and I am pretty happy with some of the images from the session though.  The girls were wonderful to work with and hopefully got a lot of  diversity from each photographer to add to their portfolios.

If your an up and coming model or actor who wants to build a portfolio and you like what you see call me for $100 off either of our comp card sessions.  Each session is 1.5 to 2 hours on location of your choice with unlimited clothing changes.  This offer is good through August 5th 2009.

Brooke 2.0 – Bridal Session Virginia Beach

May 12, 2009 3 comments

I had to finally breakdown and buy a new computer last month, while moving some images over I decided to revisit a few previous sessions we’ve had with a new twist.  We will call these 2.0 and the first set is with Brooke.   If you haven’t figured out what I like to photograph best it is children, people in love and brides with a fun spirit and open mind.

Brooke was an absolute treat to work with.  She was open to let me play around and that usually = a fun session with the potential for great images.  A little over a year later Brooke has a baby on the way too.  Congrats to Gabe and Brooke, hope you like these images and bless your new addition.

Virginia Beach – Acting Headshots

December 18, 2008 8 comments

I met Megan on Model Mayhem, she came in last week for a headshot package. She has quite a bit of modeling experience and is now pursuing acting too. This young lady has the most flawless skin of any teenager I have ever taken a picture of and though it might look like the pictures have been retouched, they barely were.  I wish her the best of luck in the pursuit of her dreams.

Splash Modeling Session – Virginia Beach

August 4, 2008 2 comments

One of the club members of Virginia Beach Camera Club has worked hard to arrange a shoot in coordination with a Splash Model Management for a multi photographer/model shoot.  Yesterday at Seashore State Park about 20 photographer met with 15 or so models.

Some very seasoned and some just getting started in modeling.  I had a great time except I should have known to bring some bug spray. Mosquitos love me.

Here are a few of the images I took yesterday.  Natalia, Anna, Nicole and Megan, you guy’s rock!!

Nikki Session 2 – Modeling Pictures

August 1, 2008 2 comments

Since Nikki is working toward being a paid model I knew the urban session images weren’t gonna be enough to complete a diverse portfolio so we scheduled another session at the beach. One of these days I’m gonna learn to use more than $50 worth of photoshop and be able whip these up alot faster than than they took.  Whew..

Nikki brought her A game to the shoot as always and hopefully she will start getting some paid gigs.
